About White Tail Running

At White Tail Running, Patrick and Stephanie are a husband-and-wife coaching duo with a shared passion for running and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed at every level of the sport. From our early days in youth running to excelling in high school athletics, achieving collegiate success in cross country and track, and competing in post-collegiate events, we’ve experienced firsthand how a great coach and supportive community and family can elevate your running journey.

Today, we continue to push the limits of our own running experiences, taking on individual pursuits in Ironman triathlon training and long-distance ultramarathons. We know what it takes to train for and complete a variety of endurance challenges, and we bring that knowledge and experience to every athlete we work with.

As coaches, we believe that personalized training is key to achieving success, whether you’re returning to running after an injury, aiming for your first 5k, or striving to break your personal records. Our backgrounds in physical therapy, nursing, and exercise physiology allow us to take a holistic approach to training—addressing both the physical and mental aspects of your running journey. Through proper baseline mileage assessments and individualized training plans, we help athletes build strength, prevent injuries, and reach their running goals safely and effectively.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced runner, we're here to guide you every step of the way. At White Tail Running, we’re not just coaches—we’re passionate runners who know how to navigate the ups and downs of training, and we’re dedicated to helping you reach new heights.

The name "White Tail Running" is inspired by the imagery of a solitary deer in a meadow, seeking its herd. As the deer finds its community, it follows natural paths—trails worn by those before it—moving together in a shared effort. Just like the white-tailed deer, which is native to the Upstate of South Carolina, runners who join our community come together with a sense of curiosity, agility, and determination. White-tailed deer are both matriarchal and hierarchical within their herds, embodying qualities of leadership and support. Similarly, our coaching philosophy fosters a balance of individual strength and collective unity, guiding each athlete toward their personal goals while building a supportive and empowered community.

“Just wanted to tell you how thankful I am for you. You have helped her get confidence back and realize just what she can do. I haven’t seen her this excited about running in such a long time!”
